live concert and gig photography from the hottest shows in London
Gibson Slash

Although I have seen The Black Kids four times this year I have been highly critical of their lackluster and chaotic performances. Tonight’s performance was going to change all that and I am pleased to say that I enjoyed their gig which has become a lot tighter over recent months.

Today (7th July) sees the hotly anticipated release of their debut album “Partie Traumatic” which contains their two singles to date “Hurricane Jane” and their debut ” I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You” which was a top 20 hit for the band. Although the album will undoubtedly do well for them it will be interesting to see how they develop their 80’s rock/pop sound. Along with their labelmate’s MGMT I think they will struggle to continue with their synth oriented pop sound which already is sounding dated.
